Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has unveiled its iconic project, Terminal 3 (T3), at the KotokaInternational Airport (KIA), Accra.
The ultramodern T3 has features that compare to some of the best and modern airports in the world. The T3 has five levels spread across an area of 48,268m² and semi closed areas for the Baggage Make up Areas of 28,260m².
It has the capacity to handle 5 million passengers a year and process 1,250 passengers per hour. It also has six boarding bridges, 7 links (expandable to 8 in the future), and a large retail area of 7,000m². The new Kotoka International Airport terminal T3 also has a CIP terminal, three business lounges, and 707 car parking slots and a new road network.
The facility also has a fully automated baggage handling system designed in accordance with the latest European Civil Aviation Conference Hold Baggage Screening (ECAC HBS) requirements expected to handle 3000 bags per hour.
The facility has received many compliments and accolades from travelers all over the world, with some saying it is better than many airports in Europe.
It is expected that the Terminal 3 will improve tourism in Ghana and attract many travelers as the country prepares to bring on a new national airline.
Another good news about the airport is that, it is just five minutes’ drive away from Green Views
apartments, providing convenience for tenants who frequent the airport to travel to various parts of the world as part of their work schedules. The new airport terminal T3 was constructed at the cost US$250million.
