Noble house

Operating since 2003, Noble House is one of the longest-serving and most popular Chinese restaurants in Accra. Their first branch was opened in Osu, now you have the possibility to visit them in 5 different branches in 3 cities in Ghana; Osu, Tesano, East Legon, Spintex, Tema and Kumasi.

They go by the phrase “We’re bringing flavours from the east, to your plate”, this is because they don’t only offer Chinese dishes, but also Indian cuisine.

They offer a very extensive menu with a variety of dishes from DimSums, approximately 55 GHS, soups (tum yum, noodle, wonton, etc) for approximately 40 GHS, all kinds of rice & noodle dishes, main courses, seafood and more for you to discover. You can also find set menus starting from 155 GHS per person, recommended for a minimum of 8 to 50 people.

Regal Restaurant

Although the interior decoration may not be the nicest one, the food is worth a visit. They serve authentic Chinese dishes; pork dishes starting from 90 GHS, Lamb dishes starting from 130 GHS, chicken & beef dishes starting from 90 GHS, and if you feel a little adventurous why not try some frog legs?

The menu at Regal restaurant is very extensive, with very generous portions. Attentive staff & fast service. The prices may not be the cheapest you find, but for the food quality it’s worth it. Check their Facebook page.

Palace Chinese Restaurant

Operating for over 30 years, Palace Chinese Restaurant is one of the most established Chinese dining names in Ghana, with branches in Dzorwulu, East Legon, and Santor. Their menu leans into bold, chef-driven dishes rather than the usual takeout staples: fish in black bean sauce, crispy duck, Beijing duck, and fried squid with spicy salt are all chef selections worth ordering.

If you’re after something more familiar, they also do Yang Zhou fried rice, fried noodles with assorted meat, and pork belly.

For a more upscale night out, Imperial Peking in the Airport Residential Area is the pick. Led by Chef John Chiu, trained in Hong Kong and Australia, the kitchen turns out refined dishes like Shandong chicken, lobster in imperial chilli sauce, sizzling beef fillet with Peking sauce, and stir-fried prawns in black bean sauce.

Worth knowing before you go: Imperial Peking enforces a smart dress code, no tracksuits, flip-flops, or worn-up hoods, so it’s a better fit for a proper dinner than a casual bite. They also have a second branch in Tema.

Tucked into a quiet compound about 300 metres from Oxford Street, Pearl is the pick for big portions at a noticeably lower price than Osu’s more famous spots. Regulars point to the assorted fried rice, generous enough to share between two or three people, as the restaurant’s calling card.

The setting is understated rather than flashy, but reviewers consistently highlight it as one of the better value options in the area.

Sweet Roses

Sweet Roses is mostly known for a “fast food Chinese” option, and has a couple of branches; Spintex road, Marina mall, Palace mall, Achimota mall, A&C mall, Kumasi brand and Takoradi branch.

We recommend this restaurant specially because they offer some tasty dishes from Sichuan province – Sichuan pork; poached in spicy slices of pork, Ma Po Tofu; sautéed tofu in hot and spicy sauce, with the main ingredients being tofu, minced beef or pork, chillies and Sichuan pepper. Sichuan cuisine stands out for its use in chilli peppers, specially the unique flavour of Sichuan pepper. If you are not a fan of spicy food, maybe it’s better to stay away from Sichuan cuisine dishes!
