Accra is very diverse when it comes to cuisine options you can choose from. We have shared with you vegetarian restaurants, brunch spots and international cuisine, but Accra also has some amazing options when it comes to Chinese restaurants. Let’s take a look at the top chinese restaurants in Accra.

Best Chinese restaurants in Accra

Noble house

Operating since 2003, Noble House is one of the longest-serving and most popular Chinese restaurants in Accra. Their first branch was opened in Osu, now you have the possibility to visit them in 5 different branches in 3 cities in Ghana; Osu, Tesano, East Legon, Spintex, Tema and Kumasi.

They go by the phrase “We’re bringing flavours from the east, to your plate”, this is because they don’t only offer Chinese dishes, but also Indian cuisine.

They offer a very extensive menu with a variety of dishes from DimSums, approximately 55 GHS, soups (tum yum, noodle, wonton, etc) for approximately 40 GHS, all kinds of rice & noodle dishes, main courses, seafood and more for you to discover. You can also find set menus starting from 155 GHS per person, recommended for a minimum of 8 to 50 people.

  • Opening hours: everyday from 12pm – 11pm (may vary slightly per branch).

Regal Restaurant

Although the interior decoration may not be the nicest one, the food is worth a visit. They serve authentic Chinese dishes; pork dishes starting from 90 GHS, Lamb dishes starting from 130 GHS, chicken & beef dishes starting from 90 GHS, and if you feel a little adventurous why not try some frog legs?

The menu at Regal restaurant is very extensive, with very generous portions. Attentive staff & fast service. The prices may not be the cheapest you find, but for the food quality it’s worth it. Check their Facebook page.

  • Location: 10 Dr Esther Ocloo St, Accra, Ghana
  • Opening times: everyday 12pm-10pm

Blue House

Looking for the best hot pot in town? Blue House is your place to go. Located in Osu, just next to The Shop Accra and Suncity Hotel Apartment, is a gem of a corner spot specialising in hot pot and grills.

For those of you who do not know what hot pot is, it’s an interactive meal in which diners sit around a simmering pot of soup at the center of the table with various raw ingredients—meat, seafood, vegetables, tofu, and starches. The experience is more fun when you are with a group of people.

Blue House offers a range of different meat for the hot pot; beef, lamb, chicken or pig feet, all for 188 GHS. You can then order additional dishes for the hot pot such as potato, lettuce, tofu, shrimp and many more starting from 20 GHS per dish.

  • Location: Omanye St, Accra, Ghana
  • Opening hours: everyday from 11am-12am

Shifusun

This is a great discovery to experience an authentic Chinese breakfast, offered every Friday. Some of our breakfast recommendations are doujiang (a popular breakfast/brunch in China, which is like a savoury soy milk soup with fried dough), youtiao (a long golden-brown deep-fried strip of dough), and baozi or xiaolongbao (which are both dumplings but with different filings).

Apart from breakfast options on Fridays, this restaurant is known especially for its dumplings and other local dishes. They have beef, pork & shrimp options for their dumplings, all within the 30-35 GHS price range for 22 pieces. The interior of the restaurant may not be the nicest, but the quality and authenticity of the food is definitely worth it, apart from being very affordable compared to other Chinese restaurants in Accra.

  • Location: Sixth Ln, Osu
  • Opening hours: everyday 7:30am – 8:30pm

Tasty Pot Labadi

Our recommendation for Tasty Pot in Labadi is because they have hot pot for one person (normally hot pots are for more than one person) as well as their milk tea (which is very nice). The single hot pot setting is really interesting.

It is a long black table with an individual built-in stove and an individual seat (see image). A whole experience which will transport you for a minute into China. Apart from hot pot, you can also find a selection of other dishes but we recommend you stick to the individual hot pot and milk tea.

  • Location: La Rd (near Jokers), Accra, Ghana
  • Opening Hours: everyday 7:30am – 10:30pm

Sweet Roses

Sweet Roses is mostly known for a “fast food Chinese” option, and has a couple of branches; Spintex road, Marina mall, Palace mall, Achimota mall, A&C mall, Kumasi brand and Takoradi branch.

We recommend this restaurant specially because they offer some tasty dishes from Sichuan province – Sichuan pork; poached in spicy slices of pork, Ma Po Tofu; sautéed tofu in hot and spicy sauce, with the main ingredients being tofu, minced beef or pork, chillies and Sichuan pepper. Sichuan cuisine stands out for its use in chilli peppers, specially the unique flavour of Sichuan pepper. If you are not a fan of spicy food, maybe it’s better to stay away from Sichuan cuisine dishes!

  • Check their Instagram
  • Location: Different branches available as mentioned above
  • Opening hours: may differ between branches, please check

As you may see, the Chinese cuisine options in Accra are very varied and each restaurant can satisfy a different need; looking for breakfast? Head to Shifusun. Hot pot with a big group of people? Blue House. Individual hot pot? Tasty Pot. A taste of Sichuan cuisine? Sweet Roses. A variety of dishes? Noble House or Regal restaurant.
