Best 10 international restaurants in Accra

Simret Ethiopian Restaurant

As the name already suggests, this is an Ethiopian restaurant. It is the “taste of East in the West”. A very cosy and intimate atmosphere, almost calming, with a very friendly and welcoming owner who is always there to serve you.

You will find a selective buffet with authentic Ethiopian dishes. The good thing about it being a buffet (no menu) is that you get to try a selection of dishes and of course eat as much as you like! It is great for both meat eaters and vegetarians and vegans because you have meat dishes as well as only vegetable dishes.

As a dessert you get to choose from traditional Ethiopian coffee or tea, accompanied by a delicious homemade chocolate cake. The restaurant is pretty small so you must always reserve a table beforehand.

Located in the lively neighbourhood of Labone, one of the coolest things about this place is it’s decoration. So colourful, full of street art designs, lighting, and almost a kind of “día de los muertos” vibe, it is surely unmissable.

You will find a selection of the most known and delicious Mexican dishes; tacos, burritos, nachos, guacamole and of course tequila.

Sneda Restaurant

Accra is full of different Indian restaurants but we want to specifically recommend this one because of the price/quality relation you will find in its dishes (and also because they serve the best sugar cane juice in town!).

Sneda restaurant is a little hidden because it’s located inside Sneda shopping market on Spintex Road. The ambiance may not be the most cosy one, but the authentic Indian food is definitely worth it!

Location: Spintex Rd, Accra, Ghana

Opening days/hours: Mon-Sat 10am-8pm, Sun 11am-8pm

Green Eats

Green Eats Salad Bar follows the concept of “build your own salad”. The concept is simple yet delicious. Firstly, pick a salad base, either mixed greens or local lettuce. Second step, choose your toppings.

Pick from a selection of vegetables such as curried cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, and top up with some chicken, beef or pork (the chicken crisps are a wonderful alternative to bacon), add some pasta, quinoa or bulgur wheat, and indulge in a selection of cheeses to top up your salad.

We would also like to highlight their fresh smoothies, you just have to choose what fruit or vegetable you want as a base and voilà.
